I Can Fix It

Today our little three year old came up to me holding the remains of a pen in his hand. He said, "I broke this by twisting it. Can you forgive me?" as he showed me the pieces in his hand. It was so sweet that all I could do was hug him for the longest. I finally was able to say, "You know what, Bud? I bet I can fix it."

I told him, "You know, that's how God treats us. We come to Him with the things we think we've ruined. And He just says, 'I bet I can fix it.' We hand Him the broken pieces and He puts it all together again." Cooper then told me that I was forgiven. Maybe it didn't all make sense just yet. Ha!

Do you ever beat yourself up over things you've "messed up"? Do you ever think you're too broken? Not to worry. Deuteronomy 30:3 says, "God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he'll have compassion on you; he'll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered." (MSG)

So today if you think everything is too messed up, just hear God say, "You know what? I bet I can fix it." Then hand Him the pieces.
